Joey Barton Ends The Season With A Big Red Card

During the last game of the English Premier League season, Joey Barton was shown a straight red card for elbowing Carlos Tevez.  He then refused to leave the pitch, and kicked out at Sergio Aguero, which led to him being stripped of the QPR captaincy and banned for the first 12 games of the coming season.  Barton’s red card put his club, QPR, in a position where they almost certainly would lose and be relegated, although they managed to survive despite losing because of events in other games.  The card did hand Manchester City a win, meaning they won the EPL title over their rivals, Manchester United.
